Further, after elimination of the main threat, in the settlement it is necessary to create bear patrol. The task forces trained and equipped with assistance of WWF of Russia effectively work at Chukotka and in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The main objective - it is timely to notify on approach of an animal to the settlement, competently and quickly to drive away it", - the project coordinator on preservation of a biodiversity of the Arctic by WWF of Russia Mikhail Stishov stated.
Besides, according to him, it is necessary to install the additional equipment in settlements - fences, the systems of observation, the notification. And the main thing - to inform inhabitants that bears cannot be lured at all, doors need to be held closed and to observe all possible precautionary measures.
Members of the expedition worked on the archipelago for five days, and each day there were [they watched] no more than 20 bears. So, on Monday 10 animals were noticed.
