An observer, carried away by the events in Belarus, could see four major unsolvable problems of Lukashenko's regime before the VI AB PA (11 - 12 February 2021):
1. An uncompetitive economy,
2. The extremal external debt and interest on it,
3. The huge costs for maintenance of the colossal apparatus of suppression and violence, activated after 9 August 2020,
4. Costs associated with the Belarusian NPP.
Such observer might try to find an analogy between the VI AB PA and the Estates General of 1789 (in France).
Further, such an observer (a) would suggest that VI AB PA was necessary for new loans (as a variant of the reputation rebranding - to confirm the stability of the Lukashenko's regime) and, as a result, (b) would come to the conclusion about inefficiency and of the general direction - of the regime's reliance on foreign loans, and about ineffectiveness of a specific maneuver - of the VI AB PA.
After all this line of reasoning, an observer, carried away by the events in Belarus, would have made some ironic conclusion - "inept puppet political theater", etc.
An observer who is mentally removed from political details can see the situation in a completely different way.
A not-involved observer recalls that until recently Lukashenko was perceived as a kind of European oddity - the strange 'last dictator' of Europe.
Lukashenko's regime was presented as a kind of European landmark. Dislike, surprise, interest - such, for example, emotions were caused by this regime.
On February 11, 2021, the European Parliament adopted a Resolution on the safety of the nuclear power plant in Ostrovets (Belarus) (https://www.europarl.europa.eu/doceo/document/TA-9-2021-0052_EN.html).
Take, for example, paragraph 3 of this Resolution.
"3. [The European Parliament] notes with concern that (...) its [nuclear power plant] construction and future operation is a source of possible threat to the European Union and its Member States with regard to safety, health and the protection of the environment '.
Or - the paragraph 7:
"7. [The European Parliament] notes that the quantity and frequency of safety incidents raise major concerns regarding the poor quality assurance and control in the plant's design, manufacturing and assembling phases and its [nuclear power plant] low operational safety, which need to be properly addressed in the EU peer review'.
Lukashenko's regime is immersed in its political and economic problems, he maneuvers, holding the VI AB PA ...
Meanwhile, his status has changed.
From a strange (even curious) dictatorship, Lukashenko's regime turned into a threat to Europe ...
