After reading a book by Alexander Korzhakov about ten days ago, I wanted to write something about it, but did not know how to approach the topic.
However, today, after writing the essay "A finances of an author and the e-market of books," I remembered this book.
In the book of Alexander Korzhakov, there are, for example, the following words: "interest [monthly] from an account in an English bank - sixteen thousand dollars." This is "after the release of the second book - "The President's Notes " [Yeltsin, Boris. The Struggle for Russia. New York: Times Books, 1994].
If this is a hint regarding a royalties, which was deposited in the bank, then an attempt could be made to determine the amount of the royalties.
Let's assume that the money was invested in the bank at 5 percent per annum.
Multiply 16,000 by 12, divide by 5 and multiply by 100. With such mathematical operations, we get the result: 3 million 840 thousand US dollars.
This is possibly more than the money portion of the Nobel Prize. How much did Alexander Solzhenitsyn receive?
In another book by Alexander Korzhakov ("Demons 2.0. But the tsars are not real!"; I could read only a free excerpt from it) Alexander Korzhakov writes: "She [the book "Boris Yeltsin: From Dawn to Dusk. Afterword"] spread among different cities and villages, booksellers and wholesalers stood in line. The right to publish was bought by 14 countries of the world, from which I received as much as 9000 dollars."
The words "I received as much as ..." may be suggest that Alexander Korzhakov was not fully satisfied with the royalties received for his book.
I tried to understand whether he was ready to write the book "Boris Yeltsin: From Dawn to Dusk. Afterword ", if he [Alexander Korzhakov] hadn't received any royalties at all.
I read this book by Alexander Korzhakov in an accelerated mode, skipping individual fragments.
Recalling the contents of his book, I formed such an opinion for myself.
This book is like a scale [the weighing device] with many bowls. Of these, three bowls seemed to me the most noticeable.
On the first of these three bowls lay the merits of Alexander Korzhakov to Boris Nikolaevich and to his family. As well as numerous personal threads [connections] that have appeared between Alexander Korzhakov and the Family over many years of acquaintance and friendship.
On the second bowl were the personal abilities and talents of Alexander Korzhakov, which objectively existed and exist, regardless of his merits to the former chief and the chief's family.
On the third bowl were reflections (rather brief) about the results of work of Yeltsin and his administration.
What bowls (or - the bowl) should outweighed at the right moment?
Each reader can have his own personal opinion about this.
As a result, we have to recognize the managerial abilities of Boris Yeltsin.. He knew how to select employees, knew how to manage them, knew how to get rid of them. And after decision he knew how to do well without them and to live comfortably on. "... They took on a lot and gave a little"... (You can hold a conference in some scientific center about the meaning of this phrase).
Now, from the content of Alexander Korzhakov's book, I go towards the question of his literary skill.
Outside of the discussion, I leave a photo of the identity card of a member of the writers' union, which was issued in the name of Korzhakov.
Let's assume that the book was written by Alexander Korzhakov personally.
Talent is a multifaceted notion. Some politician, for example, knows how to write good poetry, but as a politician he is bad. A lot of qualities can be mixed in a one person.
The person was engaged in personal protection almost all his life and in what is associated with personal protection.
Then, after the next stage of his life, he took and wrote a book. And in structure the book is good, and it is easy and interesting to read.
I recalled Andrei Molchanov, his general's shoulder straps and a certain segment of his biography ("In 1998-2002 - Advisor to the Head of the Central Regional Directorate for Combating Organized Crime. From 2002 to 2007 - Chairman of the Public Council of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Central Federal District, Major General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs." Wikipedia.). And the status was good, and a noticeable salary, and a relatively calm, civilized life.
Alexander Korzhakov, in our personal opinion, given his literary ability, could easily be an advisor on journalistic and literary issues at some state security agency. With this option, the saved nerves, the absence of worries due to "betrayal", the preserved health, a relatively clear conscience, a regular salary, perhaps, would outweigh all the benefits from an honorable (high) acquaintance and from a rapid take-off ...
In general, a royalty is not a main thing when writing a book. With all this, to overtake the Nobel laureate in terms of money is not a bad thing either.
