Modern sport gives young people a chance to get a RLD [Ready for Labor and Defense] badge and to move up the career ladder.
Seryozha bought beautiful swimming trunks, a rubber cap for swimming, and swimmer's goggles.
Relatively close to his house is an outdoor pool, which is visited by both amateurs and athletes - people of all ages.
Seryozha in rubber slippers, beautiful swimming trunks, a rubber cap and swimmer's goggles walks next to the side of the pool.
He reflects on the most effective training methods.
Suddenly, a loud whisper is heard from those, who present:
- 'The head of the Figure Skating Society has arrived!'
Seryozha looks around.
A respectable man appears near the pool, surrounded by several hefty athletes.
Seryozha is preparing to approach [to come closer] a respectable person. However, this man inspects the pool, visitors, and gradually shifts towards Seryozha.
Seryozha chose a convenient moment and said loudly:
- 'Long live our sport! Our native sport movement which is the most popular in the world!"
The look of a respectable man is directed to Seryozha:
- "Good guy!" - a respectable man says to his entourage. Then he turns to Seryozha:
- "What is your name?"
- "Seryozha!"
A respectable man takes out a notebook and writes down Seryozha's name:
- 'I am appointing you as the Chairman of the Public Council of this pool!'
- "Ready to serve at the position which will be entrusted me."
The respectable man takes a few more glances at the pool and then walks away.
After that, Seryozha walks next to the side of the pool, no longer as an ordinary visitor, but as the Chairman of the Public Council of the Pool.
Suddenly there is a commotion.
The water from the pool is rapidly disappearing.
Visitors who have managed to enter the pool helplessly move their arms and legs, look around.
The commotion is increasing.
The children start crying.
Parents hurriedly take the children and lead them away from the pool.
Everything happens so quickly that things and clothes of a many visitors remain on the benches and chairs located next to the pool.
And in some forgotten bags, there was a microscopic hamster and a small dog.
These animals emit alarm sounds.
A large, excited man appears. He speaks loudly:
- "Call the repair team, fill the pool, return the kids!"
- "Who are you?" - Seryozha asks him.
- 'I am the famous (in the past) swimmer Kukolev! But my glory has not passed even now!"
- 'And I am the Chairman of the Public Council of this pool!' - Seryozha speaks. - 'Please don't interfere! Please leave this place of events."
Having learned that Seryozha is the Chairman of the Public Council of the Pool, the famous (in the past) swimmer falls silent. He looks at Seryozha in surprise.
Seryozha politely takes Mr. Kukolev by the shoulders, turns him one hundred and eighty degrees, and gently pushes him forward.
The famous (in the past) swimmer takes a few steps in the direction set by Seryozha and disappears.
The phone rings.
- 'I am ready to perform any task in the interests of our native sport!' - Seryozha declares into handset.
- "Report the situation!"
- 'Kukolev, the famous (formerly) swimmer, came, demanded to call a repair team, fill the pool, return the kids. I unwrapped him and gently directed him away."
- 'You were succeeded to remove, to expele Kukolev?! But he's the champion! He has biceps and triceps!'
- 'I explained to him that I am the Chairman of the Public Council of the Pool. He stopped talking and left."
- 'I award you with the RLD [Ready for Labor and Defense] badge! Urgently hit the road to participate in the awards ceremony.
A few hours later Seryozha is standing in the office of the Head of the Figure Skating Society.
Hefty athletes are lined up along the walls.
Sports banners create a cheerful mood.
The song sounds: "We believe firmly in the heroes of sports. We need a victory like air...
We know: we can win, If we perform a miracle!... " [Song "Heroes of Sports") (A.N. Pakhmutova, N. N. Dobronravov)]
Seryozha receives a RLD badge.
The Head of the Society pronounces words of congratulations. Seryozha speaks in response.
- "Our sport movement is and will be the first in the world!" - Seryozha says confidently.
- 'We are not trying for ourselves, but for the country! Therefore, our sporting successes are inevitable!' - the Head of the Figure Skating Society answers.
The Head looks at Seryozha and after a few seconds of reflection asks a question:
- 'And what are your plans for the near future, dear Seryozha?'
- 'I'm going to return closer to my native pool and to continue training,' - Seryozha answers modestly.
- 'You spent a lot of time near this pool ... Maybe you don't need to return? .. Wouldn't you agree to work in the Group of General Sports Inspectors at the Asian-African Games?'
- 'I am ready to serve where I will be entrusted. At that position [post] where you will send me!" - Seryozha answers.
- "He is a good guy!" - a respectable man says to his entourage. - "We need such fellows - young, energetic, with the right attitude!"
The voice of the announcer is heard from the speakers: 'The awards ceremony is over! I ask the participants to go to the banquet hall!'
The Head of the Society takes Seryozha by the elbow.
All participants of the awards ceremony move to the exit of the office.
