(The one-act-play was created on the basis of the Mystical story by Vladimir Zalessky " A Far Eastern interview at dusk ").
CAST OF CHARACTERS:
Sasha Glumov, the oldest employee of the Chatty Gossilps media holding. He is always at the center of events. He always professionally communicates with the most senior people. He is already a man of significant age, but it is customary to call him "Sasha Glumov" for short.
Man in the Far East forest glade. He previously worked for a local newspaper. Then he moved to Moscow, where he became the chief editor of the media holding. Currently, mystical events are happening to him in a resort place (with the participation of a huge octopus). But on this day he was sent to the Far East.
ACTION. It takes place in the forest glade. The stage is decorated with images of trees. On the right edge of the scene in the background there is an image of a volcano (the inscription "Far Eastern volcano of tourist importance"), in the middle in the background there is a column of mud and steam (the inscription "Geyser"), on the left edge there is a skyscraper (the Chinese characters "Wisdom and Strength" are installed on the roof of the skyscraper).
Sasha Glumov slowly moves across the stage.
He speaks aloud:
- 'I was carried away by conversation, interview, went into the plane. It was in the capital. The plane took off. And now I am in the Far East. I need to make good use of my time. I need to find that forest glade. And from the place of the campfire, I need to pour the ashes into a test tube. The entire media holding will gather to look at this test tube. I will prove myself again. It took a long time to get to this forest glade in an off-road vehicle. The day is coming to an end, dusk is coming. (At these words, the light on the stage fades to a minimum). I'm going to find a place, where the campfire was.'
Sasha Glumov moves slowly across the stage, looking for the place where the campfire once burned.
Out of the darkness appears the figure of a man sitting on a stump.
Sasha moves his look, he sees a man sitting on a stump.
- 'Ah!' - he says, - 'I'm shaking, and goosebumps! Is that the chief?!'
The figure turns towards Sasha Glumov.
Sasha Glumov hardly distinguishes the silhouette of a seated person.
- 'Hello, Pyotr Arkadyevich!'
- 'Hello, Sasha! You is searching an opportunity for a new interview - to publish it at our media resources?'
- 'Of course, Pyotr Arkadyevich!'
- 'What do you want to ask?'
- 'How do you see your life now, Pyotr Arkadyevich?'
- 'Everything worked out by itself. After university, I came to work for a local newspaper. I bought a motor boat. The river is nearby. I will, I think, live here, ride a boat. But I found myself in Moscow. I'll manage somehow, I think. And I became the chief editor and married twice. That's it, Sasha. Everything worked out by itself.'
- 'Now what are you doing here?'
- 'I now live in a resort, Sasha. Every morning I go to swim in the sea, to admire the corals. I dive. There, at a depth, a huge octopus grabs me, drags me into a cave and eats me. I am in his stomach all the day. And in the morning I wake up in a five-star hotel, go to the beach, dive ... And everything repeats. Today I was released to the Far East.'
- 'Pyotr Arkadyevich! You will not mind if I go - faster - to transmit the material to the editorial office. The place here is peculiar. No doctors, no cellular service.'
- 'Go, Sasha. Transmit your material. Name it "Far Eastern Interview". Pat [stroke] my children on the heads. And when you will see big people, ask them to free that one (you know, whom). He is, after all, our employee.'
- 'All right, Pyotr Arkadyevich! I will try to see your kids, I will pat [will stroke] on their heads. And as for that man (our employee), it's - how will it turn out ...'
- 'We will not shake hands each other, will not hug each other - so that you, Sasha, don't get into the stomach of an octopus, by accident ...'
- 'Thank you for the interview, Petr Arkadyevich!'
The stage lights are almost out.
The man on the stump is almost indistinguishable. He disappears.
Sasha Glumov:
- 'How dark! Where I able to find a site where the campfire was? Where can I find the ashes? How can I pour ashes into a test tube in such darkness? You need to go, quickly transfer the material to the editorial office, let them post it. Interview - it in itself will please the creative team, raise my authority.'
The lights go out completely, no one is visible. The sounds of a car door slamming and of the engine of a car driving away are heard.
