- During the storm, I almost died in the Sea of Azov. When I managed to return to the shore, the caretaker of the Taganrog port advised me to learn to understand storm signals - both at sea and in my own life. To avoid irreparable misfortune.
I went to study with an old fisherman from Petrushina Spit Mykola - I began to work as his assistant. I met Mykola at the Taganrog bazaar, where he sold fish - his catch.

From the Petrushinsky Spit, the ship took me to Mariupol. From Mariupol I returned to Moscow, where I started working for a newspaper.
At that time, I often had a dream: a snowy plain with a rare palisade of telegraph poles. There were no cities or villages ahead, only snow and the bored winter cold.
In the Moscow region, in the city of Efremov, I met a descendant of Tsar Shuisky [Vasili IV of Russia] and signed an agreement with him.
