Labor lessons make out of you a real man and as well as a support of the family. A story for children about Seryozha.
The family periodically persuaded Seryozha to go to Georgia.
Seryozha studies a lot, and Georgia has a good climate, a lot of healthy fruits and places for tourist excursions. That is, he can gain strength for further exploits in his studies.
However, Seryozha saw on TV an extraordinary person who, from the owner of a palace in Italy, became a correspondent of current events. This man visited one of the schools, filmed a story there and called the students involved in labor lessons "the supports of the family" and the "real men."
Seryozha approached the labor teacher and said that he wanted to become the backbone of the family and a real man.
A teacher of labor, a former meteorologist who lived for 50 years on an island in the Arctic and reported from there by means of communication about changes in the weather, advised Seryozha "an Agricultural Education Program."
The program looked solid. Seryozha agreed.
He went to the bank and, with the consent of the family, borrowed a considerable amount of money.
Later he agreed with one of the large farmers that one of the fields would be, as it were, "Seryozha's field", and that crops for Seryozha would be grown on this field.
The farmer was an experienced man. For half of his life he worked as an advertising agent - he advertised and sold sewing machines.
When the harvest time came, Seryozha (with the help of the father of a familiar school student) arrived to this field. The field was covered with wheat. However, Seryozha found the corpses of birds and animals. Attempts to find out why the birds and animals died came to nothing. Everyone was busy developing vaccines and becoming members of the Academy.
The time has come to transport the threshed grain grown on "Seryozha's field" to the mill.
The mill was interesting because it worked "on the water". The big wheel was half submerged in the river. The flow of the river turned the wheel, thereby ensuring the grinding of grain.
Once, even before the revolution, this mill was built by an engineer who came from the western regions, then the mill was nationalized, then it was privatized, and now the owner of the mill (remotely) entered into an agreement with the Department of Education to participate in the 'Agricultural Education Program'.
The owner of the mill lived in one of the EU countries, and a graduate of the philosophical faculty of one of the capital's universities worked as a miller.
Seryozha arrived at the mill in a taxi and with a crutch.
During the transportation of grain to the mill, the wheel of the peasant's cart ran onto Seryozha's leg. The horses pulled the cart. Now is such the time - there are situations when you need to save gasoline. Moreover, the straw from the Seryozha's field went to feed the horses. That is, the transportation of grain was almost free for Seryozha.
Due to the fact that the mill has not been repaired in a right way since 1917, the result of the grinding resembled the result of the work of primitive people who ground the grains with stones. In addition, part of the grinding (due to poor operation of mechanisms) was pouring onto the floor of the mill and into the water.
The family admired Seryozha: he, with an injured leg, shows great perseverance, gains a lot of knowledge. He will become a real support of the family.
Seryozha drew the attention of the miller to the shortcomings in the operation of the mill.
Melnik proved to be a business man. He carefully looked at Seryozha and asked him:
- Are you studying at school, mastering the "Agricultural Education Program"?
- Yes!
- Do you know what Kant said?
- No.
The miller quoted Kant.
- Do you know how Adam Smith formulated his position?
- I remember something, but I can't remember specifically.
- I have an expert, he knows Smith.
The miller invited of a friend - a graduate of the political economy department of the Faculty of Economics of the capital's university - who, out of old friendship, visited a buddy who had become a miller.
The expert quoted Adam Smith.
The came time to transport the grinding result to the bakery master.
Seryozha was in the hospital when the transportation was taking place. The leg needed the attention.
Seryozha arrived at the bakery after the sacks with the grinding result were placed in the warehouse.
The master of making bakery products was the chairman of the board of the Vasily Tyomny [Vasily the Blind] charitable foundation.
The master looked at Seryozha's injured leg, greeted him and did not enter into a conversation.
Thus, Seryozha received freedom of action.
He walked around the perimeter of the bakery and looked into all the bakery rooms.
It turned out that not bought and not eaten bread products were handing to the bakery.
There was no point in discussing this circumstance, since Seryozha risked running into a lecture on the harmony of interethnic relations during the time of Vasily Tyomny [Vasily the Blind] and the story about several marriages of the Ivan the Thunderstormable [Ivan the Terrible].
The cycle of growing and using grain was close to completion.
When the "Agricultural Education Program" was over, Seryozha summed up the results.
He lost all the money received from the bank as a loan. But the school principal (one of the nominees for the "Leaders [First Persons] of the Fatherland" contest) looked at Seryozha's injured leg and said that Seryozha would be assigned a place for free education at the university and Seryozha will receive a prize "for perseverance' - for excellent completion of training according the 'Agricultural Education Program'.
The family admired Seryozha. He showed extraordinary perseverance! The money set aside to pay for tuition at the university (family members assumed that Seryozha would enter a paid place), and the premium from the school were used to pay off a loan from a bank. A little more was added, and the loan was paid in full.
And now it's all over. The program has been successfully completed. The school issued a diploma and an award. The relationship with the bank has been successfully completed. Ahead - a free place (without the payment) in the university.
Seryozha, not paying attention to his leg, drank coffee with pleasure in the kitchen and ate home-made pies.
As the wise people of antiquity said, 'study and work will grind everything'!
Enjoying coffee and pies, Seryozha felt that he had become a bit of a philosopher, began to understand a little about economics, and even, in part, turned into a historical figure.
