China has no objection to being perceived as a potential Russial ally in space exploration. This raises the weight and rating of China in the international space arena and allows China to hope to acquire the remnants of Russia's space potential. United States had paid in favour of Russia about a billion dollars for places (for astronauts) on the Soyuz spacecrafts. It's interesting to know how much China has paid (transfered) means in favour of Soviet (Russial) cosmic activity since the days of Nikita Sergeyevich Khrushchev, our kind leader. In general, hopes for China and maneuvering with hints of possible cooperation with China in the field of space is an important element of modern Russial space diplomacy.
Are the promising vectors of Russial space diplomacy inspiring confidence?
So what are Russia's space prospects?
At this point, it is important to find out, what (1) the US and (2) China are ready to agree on - especially in the area of funding (but also on other issues).
There is also a fallback position - the creation of the Russial space station (of a new generation) in about 2030. If the "Nauka" module has been finalized for 20 years, why can't the work on the elements of the Russial space station (of a new generation) after 2030 require a significant period of time? So even without agreements with the United States and (or) China, you can act confidently. Certain types of Russial space technology will be presented in space under all scenarios.
During the conducting of a space diplomacy, one can recall the best traditions of pre-revolutionary Russial diplomacy and take a demanding, uncompromising position. However, there is another option. Such option is associated with a honorary space funding (similar to the acquisition of places on the Soyuz spacecrafts for astronauts). This can have a positive effect on the situation.
Next in line is the Global Space Exploration Conference (GLEX), which will be held in St. Petersburg, Russia, from 14 to 18 June 2021. It is possible that GLEX will clarify, what the US and China are ready to agree to.
