Seryozha spent more and more time near the window [storefront] of a children's toy store. He was looking thoughtfully at the dolls: at Barbie and at Ken, displayed in the storefront.
This the strange (longer and longer) staring process took more and more time. The family found out about this phenomenon and became worried.
But suddenly the problem was resolved.
The Central Foundation for Cultural Initiatives, whose honorary chairman was a descendant of Gavrila Derzhavin, organized a competition of cultural performances on the basis of the Seryozha's school.
Seryozha submitted an application for participation to the competition. He called his performance 'A tear of the child of Fyodor Dostoevsky."
When the competition began, the assembly hall of the school was crowded.
At last, the turn reached Seryozha.
Seryozha announced the name of his performance. He then spoke about the significance of culture and literature.
After that, he spoke about the "tear of the child" of Fyodor Dostoevsky, and about what discussions in the world this tear causes.
Seryozha had taken out a package the dolls, which he bought in a children's toy store.
- "It's Barbie and Ken!" - Seryozha announced. - "Can they cry? Are there at least one tear in them"?
Seryozha called several schoolchildren from the first rows. (The dad of one of the junior school students was also sitting nearby. This dad, an employee of the radio station, was called on purpose. He conducted a radio report from the competition. He was doing a special emphasis on the Seryozha's performance).
Schoolchildren who went on stage, Seryozha instructed to take, to catch of the dolls by the hands and feet and to pull sharply and harder (in opposite directions).
Showing the result of the corresponding efforts, Seryozha announced:
- 'Everyone sees that there is not a single (little) tear inside these dolls. And we all need to be closer to culture, to literature!'
After a short pause, applause followed.
And a few days later, Seryozha gladly saw that prize money was received on his card.
So thanks to "A tear of the child" of Fyodor Dostoevsky, to the Seryozha's interest in culture and literature, everything finished with Seryozha's triumph.
