A story-telling (a successful and an ineffective). The story out of my memory.
When I entered the first year (the first year course) of the university, at the Faculty of Economics, after the secondary school, I met a friendly male team of students who were all older than me.
After serving in the army (as privates and sergeants), they entered the 'workers' faculty' (Faculty of working youth) without exams, and then, after a year of training at the 'workers' faculty', they entered the first year of university without exams.
Some of them did not show themselves in any way (any way, to be noticeable to me) during our acquaintance and communication. I couldn't say anything about them at that time - during my studies, I can't say anything about them now.
Most of them were very energetic and active. I also strove to prove myself, and with some of them I developed friendly relations (of varying levels of trust).
Our relationship was mutually beneficial to a certain extent, but our interests were different.
I was reading a lot of books and tried to participate in scientific conferences (held for students, with the participation of students). As far as I could tell, they were all indifferent to books, and did not have any scientific interests or inclinations. Some of them - for the sake of their reputation - participated in student scientific conferences.
One of them, for example, was an organizer of nature walks. The participants of these walks allocated small amounts from their meager personal student funds. At that time, the faculty building was located almost on the edge of the city: nearby there were forest belts (where people could do recreational running), and huge arrays of individual garden plots.
At the initiative of the organizer of nature walks, a friendly company was visiting the forest belt and was settling there. There was a beer stall on the edge of the forest belt. Two three-liter glass bottles (balloons) of beer were purchasing, and the participants of the events indulged in peaceful outdoor pleasures.
There was the other initiative (from another student). At midnight, a small team was moving to the area of garden plots and was directing attention to vegetable gardens with carrots, tomatoes and cucumbers, parsley and dill. Some gardeners developed vacant plots of land outside (out of) their fences, thus it was possible to approach such vegetable gardens (in a deep night) without any difficulty.
The night hikes were stopped by the organizer of beer nature walks: he ironically called the participants of these night hikes "The Gang of Ivanov" (the real surname of a lover of fresh vegetables was used). Such name ('The Gang') sounded intimidating, and after two or three sorties, the case stalled (at least in the form of collective events).
There were also more intellectual actions. About the first year, I heard from one of my older friends a retelling of a story allegedly told by a girl-activist.
This girl-activist was a pleasant, sociable, but not particularly attractive girl from one of the senior courses.
Allegedly, influential people invited her for a trip to the sea coast, and after returning, she did not speak favorably about them.
During the period of study in the upper years, I heard new stories about influential people.
Story-teller was preparing some kind of a student scientific work and, sitting in the library, found in the scientific work of one of the influential people a rewritten paragraph from a book that story-teller had received in the library.
Humorous stories of a romantic nature were told about the another influential person, in which this influential person participated.
Due to my upbringing, intuition and some kind of skepticism, I have never retold these stories to anyone. I just listened to them in silence, and that was all.
How did my skepticism manifest itself, for example?
Why would influential people go collectively to the sea coast with a pleasant-behaved, but not particularly attractive girl-activist? It looked unlikely. As for her opinion on influential people, such the opinion could have appeared without a collective trip to the sea coast (everyone has their own situations, their own views and opinions), but why would she express her thoughts out loud to somebody?
I could to believe that story-teller was sitting in the library and preparing a student scientific paper. But the fact that he could remember a paragraph from the scientific work of the influential person, make a comparison with some book received by story-teller in the library - it looked very unlikely, very doubtful.
Humorous stories of a romantic nature (about another influential person) left me indifferent: who knows who feels sympathy for whom, and who knows how this sympathy is expressed? Should I care? Should I have any concern about such themes?
Thus, I did not join the ranks of story-tellers. The creative efforts directed at me remained ineffective ones.
But sometimes the effect was obvious.
For example, in the ranks of graduates of the 'workers' faculty' (graduates of the 'workers' faculty' were studying at all years (courses)) there was an authoritative adult young man who proved himself in a cash (monetary) events during the student vacations, and who won a certain place under the Sun for himself.
There was a noticeable defect of artificial origin on this man's face.
Sometimes this activist would give me a sharp look, and a strange smile would appear on his face.
However, he was far from me in a social sense, and our communication was limited to the words "hello", "good afternoon".
There came a moment when I was told an episode as a result of which a defect appeared on on this man's face.
During a certain festive evening, all the participants drank a lot, and this man committed an act that was interpreted by those around him as a manifestation of a particularly dirty vice. Those around him expressed their attitude to the supposed vice by acting in the most rude and rather cruel form.
Later, this man justified himself by saying that under the influence of alcohol he committed some actions that, due to his loss of control over himself and spatial orientation, prompted the participants of the festive evening to incorrect conclusions about inclinations of this activist.
Since this activist already managed to occupy a place in the hierarchical structure, his explanation was assessed as sufficient, and no official moving was given to this case.
Having reached a significant male age, this activist decided to arrange his personal life. At several events, he appeared in the company of a charming girl much younger than him. It was clear from their faces that they were happy, and it was going to be a happy marriage.
But, the story-tellers chose a convenient moment, and informed the bride about the unfortunate incident, about the very incident, which gave a reason to suspect the groom of having a particularly dirty vice.
The story, told, blew up a tender relationship - as if an atomic bomb had exploded. This activist was severely injured and shell-shocked, almost killed.
After a considerable time, he appeared at one of the collective events with a woman who did not look at all like his former charming young bride.
His (former) bride turned out to be very vulnerable to the information brought to her by the story-tellers. She did not have enough skepticism, intuition and upbringing to show a resistance in relation to the chatter of unfamiliar people.
Personally, I was sure that this couple had every chance to create a happy family.
If to look at the situation from another angle, then somebody can ask the question: who did her gaze end up on?... (whom did her gaze ultimately settle on?...)
In general, the story-telling that took place during my mentioned university studies remained without any consequences (for me), and the creative efforts aimed at me turned out to be ineffective.
