A chess tournament in a China Shop. A story for children about Seryozha.
Postage stamp lovers are very intelligent people.
Seryozha decided to illustrate this thesis by the holding of a chess tournament at the Philatelic Club.
Seryozha's friends began searching for a grandmaster (for simultaneous play on fifty chess boards), a chess clocks and other accessories.
Difficulties were discovered during the organization of the chess tournament.
There were no grandmasters available (to participate in the chess tournament). Instead of fifty chess boards, only fifteen were found.
Information about the chess tournament was spread throughout all the city, and it was too late to cancel the event.
The idea arose to turn the tournament into an entertaining event for children: to replace the grandmaster with a parrot or with a monkey.
Seryozha's friends went to the Zoo. There was no suitable parrot or monkey.
They brought an elephant up to the Philatelic Club.
The elephant was standing on the street. He could not get through the door of the Club.
The building of a new tableware store was located near the Club.
The building had huge storefronts and a large spacious entrance.
Seryozha's friends escorted the elephant into the tableware store.
The elephant walked around the store and beat the dishes, which was presented on the shelves.
The children, who gathered to watch the chess tournament (with their parents), enthusiastically watched the elephant through huge storefronts.
Soon, most of the dishes were smashed - to the delight of the audience. The elephant was taken back to the Zoo.
The management of the china shop thanked Seryozha for the excellent advertising. Customers poured into the tableware store in a wave. It was interesting for everyone to visit the legendary store: "This is the store where the elephant walked!"
The losses from broken dishes were negligible when compared to the cost of running an effective advertising campaign. The management of the tableware store presented the Philatelic Club with a unique set of Chinese porcelain for fifty people.
And the city administration thanked the Philatelic Club for an excellent event that improved the mood of the entire city population, received rave reviews in the press and caused delight on social networks.
A huge grant was allocated to the Philatelic Club from the city treasury to hold an exhibition of postage stamps.
"The goal has been achieved!" Seryozha said, "We have shown everyone that stamp lovers are very intelligent people!"
