About monuments, about a history and about modern official "historians." The sketch.
From the today 's modest (January 24, 2020) morning issue of local news it's possible to find out. Today marks the date of the beginning of the genocide (January 24, 1919) of the Cossacks (the number of deaths - about three million people). In addition to other events (church memorial, for example), wreaths will be laid to the monument of reconciliation (I reproduce information "from hearing" and according memory).
I would like to speak about "reconciliation."
Reconciliation is one of the points of some historical assessments and interpretations of the events of the Civil War in Russia.
In fact, the Civil War was started in February-March 1917, when the State Duma - one of the state bodies of the Russian Empire (with signs of representativeness and parliamentarizm) - voluntarily avoided off accepting a state power.
Events in connection with the so-called "Kornilov putsch" (August-September 1917) were of importance.
State power was not passed to the representative body (conditionally - parliamentary) or to the Army.
In those events we can see both an intellectual weakness, and a lack of courage, of a readiness for events, and a violation of duty, of oath...
Many of the negative qualities of the Russian ruling elite were evident in those events.
What to reconcile with? With an intellectual weakness? With a lack of courage, with a lack of readiness for events, with a breach of duty, oath? With a moral and intellectual decomposition?
However, a reconciliation over time took place and became a fact. - First when the Constitution of 1936 was amended accordingly, and later - when representatives of "exploitative," non-proletarian classes (groups) and their descendants began to hold positions in the state system on a mass basis, to go to an educational institutions, to receive an education.
De facto, the reconciliation, although not on a large scale, took place during the Civil War itself.
In fact, the reconciliation can be seen, for example, in Vera Mukhina 's sculpture composition "Worker and Collective Farmer," in the sculpture of Yevgeny Vuchetich on Mamayev Kurgan and in other monuments and sculpture compositions.
But it would be strange to lay wreaths to those sculptures on the day of the next anniversary of the genocide of the Cossacks.
Modern historical science and modern official "historians" can be congratulated on another historical breakthrough.
