Night's tightening its circle fast
our eyes made for daylight have dropped pretence
the poetry waxing and waning outside this room
creating the turn in the feeling and change of weather
i won't let you in, it is mine alone
pale crown of the moonlight descends on you smooth and softly
shines its reflected light on your milky dress
the kind that looks good stained in blood in horror films
storm's gathering, air's full of whispers you can't deny
unbend, unstring, undo, and come undone
before the rain will dip in silver
the world around and shake us to the core
evoke yourself and run out in the downpour
with smile that eclipses the fame of L'Inconnue de la Seine
blueprint of cherished loneliness
a rhythm of woken heart
the hum of night alive with many things
