Whispers in the dark, like shattered glass they break,
I chase the ghost of you through every breath I take.
You're floating somewhere high, a silhouette in light,
An angel drifting closer in the quiet night.
But I can't move, I'm terrified,
You slip right through, I feel denied.
You leave me empty, hollowed out,
A shadow creeping with no doubt.
I see you smile in someone else"s arms,
Yet still you haunt me, lured by fading charms.
The fear wraps round my chest, it keeps me bound and still,
Your presence chills my bones against my will.
But I can't move, I'm paralyzed,
You slip right through, no place to hide.
You drain the life from every part,
An angel tearing out my heart.
I see you fall, but still you rise,
A ghost beneath those hollow skies.
Your wings, once bright, now cast a shade,
And in your flight, I am betrayed.
I try to close my eyes, but still you find a way,
Your shadow whispers softly in the night"s decay.
I can"t remember love, just all the fear inside,
The angel that I dread, in which I once confide.
And I can't breathe, you steal my air,
You pass right through, but still you"re there.
You leave me empty, hollowed out,
A ghost I fear, yet dream about.
And when you fly, I fall apart,
Your presence tearing at my heart.
